The process

From the first conversation to the final stitch.

Every commission moves through four phases. There is no fixed timeline — most gowns take between six and nine months — but the rhythm is always the same: listen, draw, build, deliver.

Four phases of a commission
01

Consultation

1 — 2 weeks

Listening before drawing.

We meet at the atelier in Kolding, or by video if you are abroad. The first conversation is unhurried and without obligation. We talk about the wedding, the venue, the season; about clothes you have loved and clothes you have not. We invite you to bring images, fabrics, photographs of your mother's dress — anything that helps us understand what feels like you.

02

Design

2 — 4 weeks

Drawing and material study.

We return with hand sketches: two or three directions, never more. Alongside the drawings we present material studies — silks, tulles, lace, embroidered samples. We refine together. A second meeting, sometimes a third. The final design is a single drawing you and we both feel is inevitable.

03

Atelier

4 — 6 months

Pattern, toile, cut and hand finishing.

Pattern is drafted, a toile (a calico mock-up) is fitted to your figure, and adjustments are made before any final fabric is cut. The gown is then constructed in the atelier. Beading, lace and embroidery are applied entirely by hand. You return for a couture fitting partway through, and a final fitting before delivery.

04

Delivery

On the week of the wedding

Hand delivery, on-site care.

We hand-deliver each gown personally. For brides in Denmark and Northern Europe we travel to your home or to your venue. The gown is steamed, fitted one final time, and any last details are addressed in person. We are reachable on the morning of the wedding.
